Once again this year, the market for leisure and business travel tourism is considered “out of the ordinary.” Fortunately, Québec City doesn’t appear to have lost any of its attractiveness and charm for visitors, as in 2021 it once again ranks at the top of the list of the 5 best destinations in Canada.

This survey, conducted annually by the American magazine Travel + Leisure, invites readers to share their opinions and travel experiences from the past 3 years.

A must-visit city for its history and food

With the allure of a European capital and its rich history, Québec City fascinates visitors and event planners who discover—and rediscover it. People love the city for its architectural heritage that blends wonderfully with colourful landscapes as well as an outstanding culinary offering that combines pleasant atmospheres and sophisticated flavours. Québec City is the ideal backdrop to keep your delegates satisfied from their eyes to their stomachs throughout their stay!

“The views, the food, the culture and the people made our week there such a pleasure,” wrote a Travel + Leisure reader.

We are pleased to see that Québec City has retained its reputation as a welcoming host city and that, for a 6th consecutive year, it ranks first among the best destinations in Canada, whether for leisure or business,” said Mr. Pierre-Michel Bouchard, president of Québec City Business Destination.

Accommodations well known for their quality

Among Travel + Leisure’s 2021 ranking of the 10 best city hotels in Canada, third place was awarded to Auberge Saint-Antoine, a member of the Relais & Châteaux network. What distinguishes Auberge Saint-Antoine from other neighbouring establishments is its luxurious yet warm atmosphere as well as its function as a museum hotel due to its location on an important historical site.

If event planners and attendees coming to Québec City are looking for the easiest-possible experience, they’ll appreciate the fact that all the amenities of a premium stay are brought together under one roof. At your disposal are 6 rooms that can accommodate up to 100 people for your events, including business meetings, training sessions, receptions and more. Not to mention Chez Muffy restaurant, located in the heart of the hotel, which boasts a menu greatly appreciated by Travel + Leisure readers.

Other hotels in Québec City have also won top honours in 2021, this time according to Condé Nast Traveler magazine. In the list of the 12 best hotels in Canada, to which more than 800,000 readers submitted their votes, the Hôtel 71 was named 3rd best hotel in the country and 1st in Quebec! This award is a recognition of the commitment of the employees and the excellence of this establishment composed of 60 rooms and 4 fully equipped conference rooms.

The Fairmont Le Château Frontenac was ranked 8th, followed closely by Hôtel Le Germain Québec and Auberge Saint-Antoine.

There are so many reasons that make Québec City the favourite destination for travellers to Canada in 2021. It’s also the ideal city for every business trip to be effective, enjoyable and productive!
